Erfolgsstory von Steffen Zwirnmann, Antal International Network

Steffen Zwirnmann ist in Deutschland geboren und aufgewachsen und hat mehr als 13 Jahre in den USA verbracht; seit 2013 ist er amerikanischer Staatsbürger.

In seiner Karriere begleitete er große europäische und nordamerikanische Unternehmen bei strategischen und prozessorientierten Herausforderungen wie zum Beispiel BMW, Toyota oder Pfizer.

In den letzten fünf Jahren hatte Steffen für BMW unter anderem an der Optimierung von Geschäftsprozessen, unternehmerischer Strategieausarbeitung und Prozessverbesserung mitgewirkt. Er verfügt über besondere Kenntnisse in den Bereichen Supply Chain Management, Materialplanung und Logistik.

Vor seinem Einstieg in die Beratung hatte er eine Führungsposition bei einem namhaften deutschen Unternehmen inne und war als Geschäftsführer für die Etablierung und Steuerung der Tochtergesellschaft in Nordamerika verantwortlich.

Er hat einen Master of Business Administration (MBA) von der Emory University in Atlanta und ein BWL-Studium in Deutschland absolviert.

Steffen war von dem Antal Training und den Beratern, die schon einschlägige Erfahrungen in der Personalberatung besitzen, sehr beeindruckt. Vielen Dank an Maria Stevens und Tony Jones!

Steffen ist von der Gründung seines Büros in Berlin, Deutschland, begeistert und kann es kaum erwarten, seine Kenntnisse und Erfahrungen weiterzugeben.

Sein besonderer Schwerpunkt liegt im Bereich Automotive in Europa und Nordamerika.

International recruitment firm Antal International has just announced the acquisition of its original subsidiary “Antal Russia” after having divested this business nine years ago to the FiveTen Group.

Antal Russia was sold to the FiveTen Group in 2008 for Investment opportunities and was the largest private recruitment company to be sold in Russia at the time. “We are delighted to reacquire Antal Russia allowing us to expand our reach across Europe. It fits into our global strategy” says Sagar Ruparelia, Group Financial Director of Antal International.

Reacquiring Antal Russia is a solid move; obtaining an astounding head count of 130 + staff members  across 4 offices located in the capital, Moscow, as well as Saint-Petersburg, Kazan and Almaty located in Kazakhstan. The superb management team, led by Antal Russia stalwart Michael Germershausen, have continued to develop the business despite the difficulties of the Russian economy over the past few years. They will bring experience, expertise, enthusiasm, synergy and energy into the Antal International Group Companies – and they will be welcomed back with open arms.

Who cannot be intrigued and fascinated by the biggest geographical country in the world, covering 11 different time zones!

I always wanted to do business with Russia and was sceptical of many of the bias, negative reports that came out of Russia from 1980’s. It a great country with incredibly strong, resilient, resourceful people. None better educated in the world with a perspective on life completely different to the European countries I had grown up with.

Whilst I know that many European businesses have struggled in Russia, Antal flourished under the guidance and leadership of Michael Germershausen, Luc Jones and Natalia Kurkchi, all of who are still with the business and have a combined tenure approaching 50 Antal years.

We have every confidence that the economic turnaround has begun in Russia after 3-4 lean and difficult years (which has actually strengthened Russia’s manufacturing and agriculture capabilities) and that the political landscape will also return to a more collaborative posture in the next 1-2 years.

Kevin earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) at University of Phoenix, the acclaimed International School in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, while Eysa obtained a Masters Degree in Science Professional Management (MSPM) at the University of Miami, one of the top 50 universities in the US well known as one of “America's Best Graduate Schools".  Kevin has worked for well known global companies such as Samsung, in over 10 countries while Eysa has had a long stint at Deloitte as her career developed.

Kevin Escobar's experience has been in several senior management positions within the telecoms industry with a strong track record of performance in turnaround and high paced organizations, experience in sales operations, P&L oversight, new business products, and marketing.  He will be working closely with candidates and clients in the Panama region to find innovative solutions to recruitment demands.   With her experience in the financial industry, Eysa Reyes is able to provide expertise and consulting to project managers in  project management, banking, finance and in the softer skills of team dynamics, team building and group motivation.

The Global Recruiter UK Industry Awards are judged by a team of experts drawn from the industry itself. The awards are free to enter, which creates a level playing field for all recruiters and recruitment companies.

The Best Use of Social Media category was aimed at the most effective targeting and engaging with new candidate communities.

Antal impressed the judges with their comprehensive and international use of social media channels. Antal delivered impressive statistics across the board and have used social media to improve the experience of clients, candidates and internal staff.

The standard was astonishingly high this year and in many categories the esteemed judges had trouble picking a winner but, as always, in each category there was one who stood out.That night Tony Goodwin, Founder & Chairman of Antal International, has been awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year 2014 where the global recruitment company was shortlisted among some highly successful UK businesses.

Antal International won the ‘Best International Recruitment Agency’ category at the 2012, Recruiter Awards which is the leading awards programme for the recruitment sector. Antal beat off fierce competition to take the award, which was presented in recognition of the company’s ability to provide complete international recruitment solutions for many of the world’s most ambitious and demanding businesses. This is the entry statement that gained us this prestigious award and really sums up the cross boarder activity taking place on a regular basis.

As its entry states: "Only at Antal can you speak with a Swedish consultant in Spain to be referred onto an English-speaking person in Shanghai who, together with the local Chinese team, finds a Mandarin-speaking European with exceptional experience." In fact, that example is not rare for winning multi-national, multi-sector recruiter Antal International. In its entity, Antal demonstrated that it could set the international network to actually work together for the benefit of clients and candidates. For all its placements, an in-depth knowledge of the local market, culture and understanding of the required skills are paramount.

Antal was given the challenge of sourcing a candidate for a particularly hard-to-fill role in North Africa. The position was for a distribution account manager for a Dutch electronics, calibration and networks company. The niche skills for this role were in short supply on a global scale, but particularly uncommon in North Africa. To add to the complexity, the client required a candidate that was already based in Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia or Lybia. And coupled with the uprisings taking place at the time in many Arab countries, this was a tough assignment. Regardless of the challenges presented in this difficult brief including the unusual skill set, the location, language requirements and the social-political turmoil of the Arab Spring uprising, Antal was still able to source candidates, of which one was successful. With all the political and social unrest, Antal was still able to find the right person for the job."
